Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. I painted this after a trip to Washington DC this summer. The heat index was ridiculously high but a walk along this river and these falls made me feel cooler. I had to think about this for a little over a month before I painted it. I often do this, working it all out in my head before I approach the paper. Holbein pigments on Saunders Waterford 200# CP. Available.
