Artist's Description
I shot this scene at the end of Ellinger Road, Alanson, Mi. after a heavy snowfall. It came to life nicely on my watercolor paper. (140# cp). The entire painting is done in transparent watercolor, any white you see is the paper. I love Northern Michigan and it is so much fun to paint pictures from that location.

Hi Lisa. Nope, I just used the nice fine tip of pointed round sable #10 of all things. I did think about getting a rigger out but the brush I was using worked for the whole painting. Crazy isn't it. I can do ALOT with a #10 or #12 pointed round sable. Thanks for the affirmation. I still wish you could see it in person.....Someday.

wow!!! this painting is so wonderful. I love the colors. It really conveys the chill of a winter day on the lake. I can feel the chill in the air. The water is awesome. The trees are loose and expressive. Did you use a rigger brush for those? They have so much character. I love the hint of warm colors up front. I think this is one of your best to date!! Congrats. This one will really sell at the gallery.
