Description
This scene was painted from a reference photo by Valentin Katrandzhiev but I have stood in the same spot on a recent trip to Bulgaria. This is along the coast of the Black Sea in the little fishing cove of Bolata. It was in this location that I experienced the Black Sea for the first time.....swimming. The locals thought the water was too cold for swimming but this Michigan girl had no trouble jumping in. Holbein pigments on Arches Illustration Board (also a first).
